I know you spend a lot of time with your granddaughter. Are you grooming her to be an instructor? Most definitely! She says she is going to do like I do and is going to become an Aerobics Instructor.

And does she motivate you to keep doing it? Most definitely! Teaching allows me to keep up with her.

I know you were teaching at your church at one time, or you still teach; do you plan on doing it again? I am presently not teaching at my church; however, I plan on doing it again. Teaching for my church was also a motivation for wanting to be an instructor.

And how is that different from teaching in a regular gym setting? Teaching for my church is different because the people are probably less fit than at a gym setting. It is more of a challenge for me due to limited equipment and conditions. I still love it because, again, I get an opportunity to help people.

Are the classes geared more toward seniors or can anyone who wants to come? Anyone can come to my classes at church; however, I would like to start something geared strictly toward students who are 60-plus years old. These people are considered the wisdom in the church.

Do you find teaching aerobics as rewarding for yourself as well as the class? Most definitely! It keeps me young, vibrant, and healthy.

What words of encouragement do you have for anyone interested in becoming an instructor? Go for it. Tap into those activities that you did while growing up in school.  Cheering, dance, athletics. These are the things that your body remembers how to do once you get started toward a fitness lifestyle. This energy will motivate you into letting it rub off on someone else. If you can still do it, do it.

How would you say aerobics has helped you, besides keeping you fit, in the rest of your life? Job, family—does it help with those stressors? Aerobics helps cope with all the various personalities that I encounter at work as well as makes me feel good about myself. It helps boost my confidence when I feel that I am not fully in control.

Well, is there anything you would like the reader to know that I may not have covered? Yes, I remember when you were a young child at church. Little did I know that you would be the little boy who I would inspire one day to become an Aerobics Instructor. Go, Greg!

Well, thank you for taking time out to talk with me and let our reader know a little about what a great person you are. Thanks, Greg. I am honored to share time with you.
